Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery includes craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Job): Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to enhance its appearance or improve breathing function. It can address cosmetic concerns or correct structural issues.
Breast Augmentation: Breast augmentation involves the use of implants or fat transfer to increase breast size or restore breast volume after pregnancy or weight loss.
Breast Reduction: This procedure reduces breast size to alleviate discomfort, improve body proportion, and address medical issues such as back pain.
Liposuction: Liposuction removes excess fat from various areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, and hips, to achieve a more contoured appearance.
Facelift (Rhytidectomy): Facelift surgery tightens and rejuvenates facial skin and underlying tissues to reduce sagging, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): Abdominoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the abdominal area and tightens the abdominal muscles, resulting in a flatter and more toned midsection.

Treatments for the plastic repair of a broken nose are first mentioned in the c. 1600 BC Egyptian medical text called the Edwin Smith papyrus. The early trauma surgery textbook was named after the American Egyptologist, Edwin Smith.
